The following are some of the most frequently asked questions we receive.
- Can I just view the movie/game case first?
ANSWER: Yes, if you rent a movie/game and return it within 10 minutes, there is no charge.
- What forms of payment can I use?
ANSWER: We accept VISA/MC only, but pre-paid VISA/MC cards are accepted as well. Quick Box kiosk does not accept money.
- How much does it cost to rent a movie/game?
ANSWER: The first night’s rental fee is $1.99 (plus taxes), each additional night is $1.99 (plus taxes). If you don’t return the movie/game within 7 days, then you have purchased the movie/game and will be charged the full purchase price of the movie/game (amount varies).
- What if I don’t have a credit or debit card? Can I still rent from Quick Box?
ANSWER: This machine does not accept money. You can purchase a prepaid VISA/MC credit or debit card that could be used.
- What is the $20.00 charge then credit on my credit/debit card statement?
ANSWER: In all credit/debit card transactions, your card is pre-authorized to ensure enough funds are available for the transaction. Quick Box pre-authorizes your credit card for $20.00. When the movie/game is returned you are only charged the total rental cost.
- What will my credit/debit card statement say?
ANSWER: Your statement will be charged by “First Data.”
- Is my transaction secure?
ANSWER: Yes. Our credit/debit card processors are SSL-encrypted (Secure Sockets Layer). This is a protocol developed by Netscape for transmitting private documents via the Internet. SSL uses a cryptographic system that uses two keys to encrypt data – a public key known to everyone and a private or secret key known only to the recipient of the message. Both Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer support SSL and many Web sites use the protocol to obtain confidential user information, such as credit card numbers. No card or other personal information is kept in the Quick Box kiosk.
- How long do I have to keep the rental before I’ve bought it?
ANSWER: You can buy the movie/game immediately by pressing the “Buy” option from the main screen at the beginning of the transaction. However, if you keep the movie/game for 7 days, then you have purchased the movie/game and the full value of the movie/game (amount varies) will be charged to your credit or debit card. After 7 days, the kiosk will not accept the movie if you try to return it.
- What if the store that the Quick Box kiosk is located in is closed on the day after I rented and I can’t return it (holiday, weather-related disasters, etc.)?
ANSWER: Your credit or debit card will be charged for the extra day ($1.99 plus taxes). However, if you contact us we will be happy to grant you a free coupon for another movie/game rental to be used at your convenience.
- Why do I need to use a credit/debit card if I have a coupon code?
ANSWER: Just in case you decide to keep the movie/game.
